1. In the beginning of the episode, Ash catches what Pokemon?

Answer: Caterpie

Ash throws his pokeball to catch Caterpie and he succeeds. Misty then comes along to hear the news and says she hates bugs and ask Ash to keep it away from her. He then tells Pikachu that they have a new friend.

2. What does Ash's new Pokemon do when Misty insults it?

Answer: It goes back into its pokeball

When Misty wakes up, she sees Caterpie right at her face. She gets freaked out and starts to insult Caterpie, telling it to get out of her face and into the pokeball. Caterpie's feelings are hurt and it goes back into the pokeball. Ash then tells Misty that she owes Caterpie an apology.

3. Which flying Pokemon flies by when Ash and Misty are talking?

Answer: Pidgeotto

Ash gets excited when he sees the Pidgeotto. He then uses his Pokedex to learn more about the Pokemon. He then tries to catch it by simply throwing his Pokeball. But it fails and then he asks Caterpie to battle it in an attempt to weaken the Pidgeotto. But Caterpie loses.

4. Does Ash eventually catch the flying Pokemon?

Answer: Yes

Caterpie loses to Pidgeotto and then Ash sends Pikachu to battle it. Pikachu shocks the Pokemon with its electricity and Ash catches the Pokemon. Misty then gives Ash a piece of his mind for not knowing that it was a bad idea to play Caterpie against Pidgeotto because bugs have a disadvantage over flying types.

5. Team Rocket comes in to steal which Pokemon?

Answer: Pikachu

Team Rocket comes in with Meowth in an attempt to steal Pikachu. Then a battle ensues in which Team Rocket uses Koffing and Ekans. Misty is then given the responsibility to protect Pikachu while Ash battles Team Rocket.

6. What does Jessie tell Ekans when she orders it to attack Ash's Pokemon?

Answer: Ekans, go get your dinner!

Ash sends out Pidgeotto after realizing that Caterpie may be too weak to fight. Team Rocket orders Koffing and Ekans to attack. Pidgeotto uses quick attack and thus Ekans goes underground. Pidgeotto evades the attacks but is then defeated by Ekans and Koffing. Ash loses to Team Rocket.

7. Finally Ash uses another Pokemon. What is the first attack he orders Caterpie to use?

Answer: String shot

After Pidgeotto is defeated, Ash uses his tired Caterpie. He orders it to use string shot on Team Rocket's Pokemon. It succeeds and Koffing and Ekans are defeated. Meowth then steps up and he loses too. Team Rocket then run off. Ash rejoices in his first victory.

Answer: Metapod

Caterpie evolves into Metapod. Ash then uses his Pokedex to learn more about his new Pokemon.

A beedrill flies across Misty's face when Ash asks her to make nice with Metapod. She gets freaked out and tells Ash that she wants to get out the forest.
