Bluey's family is based on the Australian breed of dog known as the blue heeler or the cattle dog. The heeler breed is loyal and very intelligent. Heelers will become very attached to their owners and dislike separation of any kind. For this reason, they have been nicknamed "the shadow dog." The show's creator, Joe Brumm, had a childhood blue heeler also named Bluey.

Bandit works as an archeologist because dogs love digging up bones, and Chili works in airport security. David McCormack, who provides the voice for Bandit, and Melanie Zanetti, the voice actress for Chilli, record each episode in their personal studios. Though they voice a married couple, the two actors have never met in real life.

Answer: Stripe and Trixie

Australian heeler puppies are born with a white coat. As they grow into adults, their fur will change to either a blue or red color. Bluey, her Dad, Uncle Stripe, and Trixie are all blue heelers, while Bingo and Chilli are red heelers.

Answer: Muffin and Socks

Muffin and Socks are the daughters of Uncle Stripe and Aunt Trixie. Muffin is the older sister and is described as "non-stop!" Socks is still a baby and just learning how to talk.

Pom Pom is introduced in the episode named "Seesaw". Her small size appears to make it hard for her to play with the big kids - until Bluey uses Pom Pom to help dislodge Bandit from the playground seesaw.

Answer: A balloon

Bluey and Bingo spend the episode trying to keep a balloon up in the air. Once the girls figure out how to make the game easier, they ask Dad to help make it harder. He does, and in fact, makes it a bit too hard, and the balloon eventually pops on the grass outside. Because that was their last balloon, Bandit must make it right by becoming a "Daddy Balloon!"

Answer: A stuffed rabbit named Floppy

Bingo's favorite stuffed bunny keeps her company through the interstellar journey. The other three characters appear in different episodes. A selection of music from "The Planets" by Gustav Holst is used in this episode.

Answer: Spring rolls

The spring rolls, missing from the order, will only take a mere five minutes to be ready. However, Bluey and Bingo cannot sit still, and Bandit is desperate to try anything to keep them occupied. Just when Bandit has reached his limits, a quote in one of the fortune cookies puts his mind at ease: "Flowers may bloom again, but a person never has a chance to be young again."

Answer: Dad's tummy

While out on a family picnic, Bluey, Chilli, and Bingo use their hands as puppets who must scale the "Blue Mountains" to find the softest beds in the world. Bandit plays the mountain range, and the finger puppets traverse over his stomach to complete their search.

Answer: Chunky Chimp

Bluey is nervous about going to the movies because she is afraid of sitting through the scary parts. However, as the movie progresses, she gains confidence from the main character as Chunky Chimp also confronts his fears. Bandit, on the other hand, spends the entire time chasing Bingo around the theater. Poor Bandit!
