Charlie Bone is one of the children of the Red King. These children are known to be endowed. There are a few such as Charlie and some are on the good side and some on the bad.

Tancred Torsson is known to have a lot of temper and he usually lets out large blasts of wind if he is in a bad mood. Tancred, also known as Tanc, is best friends with Lysander Sage, whom he's mostly seen with. He occasionally helps Charlie and his friends out if they need his aid. Tancred has blond spikey hair.

He also has somewhat of a crush on Emma Tolly later on. Emma also feels the same way about him. In the fourth book, 'Castle of Mirrors', Tancred almost switches to the bad side when Joshua Tilpin uses magnetism on him to try and lure him into being his friend. But, in the end, Tancred comes back to the good side after his friends come to his rescue.

Emma Tolly has the power to fly but she can only do it while she has taken the form of a bird. Emma sketches birds and then takes their form. She is in Art and loves to draw birds. She even invented a bird called the Tollroc, whose form she took to save Olivia. Often, when her fingers are in pain, she cannot turn into a bird.

This is her weakness. Her Aunt, Julia Ingledew, the owner of Ingledew bookshop, looks after her because her parents are dead. She even has a duck named Nancy who was named after her mom. Emma has a crush on Tancred.

He can be really dangerous and harmful to those who come in his path while he is in this form. Later in the books, he turns over to the good side. Idith and Inez Branko are twins who create problems for everyone. Their expressions appear to be the same no matter what happens and they look like plastic figures. Their power is to make objects move with their minds and often they make other people mad or upset by using these powers. They usually do everything together and are hard to distinguish.

Olivia Vertigo is a student in Bloor's who is really into Drama. Her mother is an actress and she wants to be one some day too. She is good friends with Emma and also hangs out with Charlie and the group. She is a person on the good side.

Benjamin Brown, Charlie's best friend. He lives just next door to him. He has a dog named Runner Bean, who is very enthusiastic. Benjamin's parents are detectives, which makes they go on long trips and leave him with a baby-sitter most of the time. He is not endowed but supports Charlie and his friends in every trouble they have all the same.

Eric Shellhorn is Venetia Yewbeam-Shellhorn's step-son. He was good in the beginning when we first heard about him, but later, Venetia's evil ways influenced him and made him evil too. Paton Yewbeam helps Charlie and his friends a lot in the series. Paton is actually Lyell Bone's uncle, but Charlie still refers to him as his uncle. Paton is a shy person who never goes out of the house during daytime because he makes all the lightbulbs explode when he sees them.

He calls his power very unfortunate, but it comes in very handy at times. He is known to have a crush on Julia Ingledew, Emma Tolly's auntie. He is the brother of the evil Yewbeam sisters, but always goes against them.

She also has a crush on Tancred.
