In the chapter "The Seer Overheard", Harry is with Professor Trelawney after she has just been sent out of the Room of Requirement. She is upset about Firenze teaching Divination and is saying that he shouldn't teach. "I am afraid ,'she went on, that the nag - I'm sorry - the centaur - knows nothing of Cartomancy."
Cartomancy is a type of divination where you read cards to tell the future. Belomancy is the art of Divination by the use of arrows, Chiromancy uses palms of the hand and Tasseomancy uses tea leaves.

In the chapter "The Unbreakable Vow", everyone is at dinner and Hermione asks Parvati if she is going to the party. She then tells Parvati that she is meeting Cormac at 8 o'clock. "Yes, I'm meeting Cormac at eight and we're ...". Harry is also going to meet Luna at 8 o'Clock in the Entrance Hall.

In the memory when Dumbledore goes to visit Tom Riddle at the orphanage, Mrs Cole is talking to one of the helpers. "... and take the iodine upstairs to Martha, Billy Stubbs has been picking his scabs and Eric Whalley's oozing all over his sheets - chicken pox on top of anything else."

Billy Stubbs also the little boy who had the pet rabbit that Tom hung in the rafters. Dennis Bishop and Amy Benson are the children that Tom tortured in the cave on their trip to the seaside.

In this match Cormac hits Harry with Peakes's beater's bat and Harry gets sent to the hospital wing with a cracked skull. He doesn't know what happened in the match, only that before he left the match Hufflepuff had already got 70 points and Gryffindor had 40 points. "'D'you know how much we lost by?' he asked Ron through clenched teeth. 'Well, yeah I do,' said Ron apologetically. 'Final score was three hundred and twenty to sixty.'"

When Harry is in a detention with Professor Snape, Harry has to clean and sort out Filch's office drawers. The things he has to sort out are writings about students who have done wrong in Hogwarts. Professor Snape gives Harry the first pile of them and in there is a record of the time when his Dad and his friends where at Hogwarts.

They are mentioned in a lot of it, and one of them says that James and Sirius tried an illegal curse on somebody called "Bertram Aubrey".

At Professor Slughorn's Christmas party, Professor Slughorn introduces Harry to Eldred Worple who was an old student of his. He tells him that he is an author and that he wrote "Blood Brothers: My Life Amongst the Vampires". He is also with a Vampire called "Sanguini".

The letter is for his first lesson with Dumbledore. Dumbledore writes this at the end of the letter so he will know the password to get to the lesson. Luna does give Harry a letter from Dumbledore in the book, but it's not that one.

When Harry, Ron and Hermione are in the Common Room, Hermione says that she has been trying too find out who "RAB" could be. She mentions Rosalind Antigone Bungs' name and she also mentions Rupert "Axebanger" Brookstanton but says that it can't be them because she can't find any evidence that they had anything to do with Voldemort.

They find out in "Deathly Hallows" that "RAB" is really Regulas Arcturus Black, Sirius' brother.

When Harry and Hermione are in the Library with the Half Blood Prince's book Madame Pince sees it, and starts to shout about what the book looks like. She doesn't say the book is depraved, but she calls Harry a depraved boy.

Luna comes to find Harry and deliver a letter to him from Dumbledore. She is emptying her bag to find it and she takes out some things and gives them to Ron to hold. One of the things that she took out was something that looked like a green onion. When Ron passes them back to her, he asks her what it is. "Oh, It's a Gurdyroot,' she said, stuffing the cat litter and the toadstool back into her bag. 'You can keep it if you like, I've got a few of them. They're really excellent for warding of Gulping Plimpies.'"
