She was embarrassed that it was all she could give, but when she gave them to Jesus they burst into a bouquet of red flowers.

A Christian legend around the candy cane is that it is shaped like a J to represent "Jesus". The white represents Christ's purity and the red stripes represent his sacrifice on Calvary.

Tradition says that if a girl is kissed underneath the mistletoe then she can expect a happy marriage in her life. If she is not kissed it is bad luck. Many parties have fun seeing who will receive a Christmas kiss under the mistletoe for Christmas.

Carols are songs of joy and praise. People who sing them around Christmas time are known as carolers. Many carolers will sing for charity drives or for fun to entertain shoppers at malls and stores. Some groups also go to places that provide for people in need, such as shelters, nursing homes, and orphanages. Songs usually bring these people lots of holiday cheer!
