Mum's boyfriend, Jake, did all the others, but he didn't buy the pendant for Mum. She bought it herself, but got him to fasten it around her neck as if he bought it. Jake left in the end, claiming it wasn't a 'forever thing'. Mum says it was because she had cancer, but Jayni thinks it was because the money had gone.

The pub used to be owned by Jayni's Grandad, but when he died, Auntie Barbara took over. She's a very large lady, but kind, with Mum's lovely thick hair. She comes to look after Jayni and Kenny when Mum goes into hospital.

Mum and Auntie Barbara are really good at singing, so good that Auntie Barbara suggests that they should call it "The Singing Sisters." Mum didn't want to continue calling it "The Trout" because she thinks that people will start calling them "the two old trouts".
