Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which Neopian figure is celebrated on January 14th?

Answer: Dr. Sloth

Dr. Sloth is one of the most notorious villains in Neopia, and on every January 14th, he takes over the news page and introduces new Sloth-themed items and mutant or robot pets. Dr. Sloth was responsible for imprisoning and mutating Grundos in past plots, but luckily, the Space Faerie and the rest of Neopia defended the Grundos of Virtupets Space Station and fought off the evil doctor. If you feel like celebrating, I suggest playing a game of "Splat-a-Sloth" or "Advert Attack", both of which feature Dr. Sloth in one form or another.
2. What is the holiday celebrating Mystery Island and its exotic fruits?

Answer: Gadgadsbogen

On March 4th, Neopia celebrates Mystery Island in large festivals dedicated to the region's exotic fruits and Neopets. On this day, there are exclusive avatars, newly introduced fruits, and new Island-themed Pets and Petpets released. If you want a bit of Gadgadsbogen all year round, you can always play Mystery Island's Gadgadsgame, which is similar to "Tetris".
3. Which occurs earliest in the year?

Answer: Grey Day

Grey Day, which occurs on April 14th, is dedicated to Neopets that are painted grey. Often, these Neopets seem depressed due to their colour, so it's quite a gloomy day. On August 25th, Neopia celebrates Mutant Day. During this day, mutant-themed goodies are released, and on occasion, some pets may unexplainably (and temporarily) change into mutant forms.
4. Jhudora Day falls of February 4th. When would one celebrate Illusen Day?

Answer: March

Illusen and Jhudora are two faeries who sent Neopians on quests. Jhudora, the dark faerie, can be found outside of Faerieland, and she'll reward you with strong, yet dark prizes if you complete her quests. Illusen, on the other hand, is much nicer. She's found in her glade in Meridell, and she'll give you many natural prizes for completing her quests. On their respective days, there are many features dedicated to these two faeries.
5. Who did Neopians defeat in order to have Tyrannian Victory Day on May 12th?

Answer: The Monoceraptor

The second plot to appear on Neopets was based around the Tyrannian war. During this time, players could fight the evil Monoceraptor in order to save this prehistoric land, and in the end, it was taken down on May the 12th. After this plot, Tyrannia became an accessible area. Back when the Monoceraptor reigned, Boris and Tonus were not yet discovered.
6. On which day in June do Neopians celebrate Petpet Appreciation Day?

Answer: Eighth

On Petpet Appreciation Day, Neopians take some time out of their schedules to spend time with their petpets. Often, the Petpet Protection League gets involved as well and rewards players for their continued support. Petpets can be attached to any Neopet and can often provide Neopets with fun and happiness. There are hundreds of different petpets in Neopia.
7. Which area of Neopia was discovered on July 30th?

Answer: Meridell

Meridell has been a land of both peace and war since its discovery, and it's had many scuffles with the Darigan Citadel in the sky. The area of Meridell consists of the main area, Meridell Castle (home of King Skarl) and Meri Acre Farms. To the north, one can visit Brightvale, another medieval area that was introduced in the following years on August 11th. On these days, new items and such are added to the shops in both areas.
8. Which game is celebrated on Sept 23rd?

Answer: Gormball

The Annual Gormball Championships are held every year on the 23rd of September, and although the game isn't updated, fans can purchase new merchandise and find avatars related to the popular Virtupets game. Oddly, there are no other permanent holidays related to games. "Gormball" is much like "Hot Potato", and when a Gormball explodes on your character, you're out of the game. An avatar and plenty of Neopoints can be earned if you are the last player standing.
9. Which of these celebrations is on August 20th?

Answer: Annual Usuki Doll Convention

During the Annual Usuki Doll Convention, or Usukicon, collectors and other Neopians rush to the Neopian Bazaar to collect marked down and rare Usuki dolls. Often, players will also receive Usuki gift bags featuring new products from that year's line, and Quigukis are also introduced. Every year, Neopians are surprised by new dolls and accessories whether they be play sets, outfits, or petpet toys.
10. When is Borovan Day?

Answer: December 20th

According to the Neopian Calendar, "Everybody likes to drink a hot cup of Borovan on this day!" Borovan is the name of Adam Powell's account (he's the site's creator), and it's also a warm Neopian drink. Every year on this date (just before Christmas), new Borovan-flavoured goodies are added to the site, whether they be brownies or cakes. Often, while the Neopian Advent Calendar is running on this date, users can get free, soon-to-be-retired Borovan items.
