Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What legendary artifact is Serpine supposedly searching for?

Answer: The Sceptre of Ancients

The Sceptre of Ancients has the power to turn everything to dust. Very scary. The black crystal sings to the owner when an enemy approaches. However, when the Ancients, or one with blood of the Ancients, approached, the crystal did not sing. Thus, one flaw in the ultimate weapon. The other three answers are random made up ones.
2. What name is Stephanie Edgley?

Answer: A Given Name

Everyone has three names. No-one knows their true name. The given name is what your parents or whoever give you at birth, and the taken name is one that you take to seal and protect your given name. If anyone knows someones true name, then they can control everything about that person.
3. Serpine is an Elemental.

Answer: False

He is, in fact, an Adept. And a particularly powerful one at that. Elementals can manipulate the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Adepts can do all manner of things, such as necromancy techniques (death magic), and lots of other stuff like the fire-resistant man. I'd like to be an Adept. It would be fun.
4. What does the fire-proof man want from Stephanie?

Answer: A key

He wants the key that opens the door to the tunnels under Gordon's house. Which is where the Sceptre is ultimately hidden. Cool. Although, I wouldn't like to be an enemy of the sorcerer that built the house, would you? I mean, he built an entrance that led to the tunnels, which are are death-trap for sorcerers.
5. How does the fire-proof man eventually die?

Answer: The water 'took him apart'

Turns out, a lot of water was lethal to that man. It was the flaw of making himself resistant to fire. Well, having a 'fire-proof coating' seems pretty wild, even for Derek Landy. It's just as well that I'm not an author, isn't it?
6. What is the name of Serpine's visitor?

Answer: Mr Bliss

Landy hasn't revealed Mr Bliss' first name, if he even has one. Well, we have seven more books to read in order to find out, don't we? Stephanie described his eyes as 'like staring into oblivion'. He does, however, have legendary strength which proved very handy during the war.
7. Ghastly Bespoke got his love of boxing from his father and his love of sewing from his mother.

Answer: False

It was actually the other way round, which was strange. I hope he wakes up sometime soon though, he was pretty cool. Anyway, according to Skulduggery, his mother had a punch that could take a man's head off. Brilliant.
8. Where is the Vault located?

Answer: The Dublin Municipal Art Gallery

The Vault hires vampires as security guards. A tad more deadly than ballerinas, aren't they? Well, I can't blame Stephanie for thinking that they were dancers. These aren't the vampires that legend knows. These are more animal than man, and cannot distinguish between friend and foe once they shed their skin.
9. Where was the troll living, and who decided to kill it?

Answer: Westminster Bridge; Tanith Low

Well, I think we know that the Queen one is a bit ridiculous, and China wouldn't want to kill anything because the blood would probably ruin her skirt or something. Valkyrie Cain is a bit impossible since she was tucked up nice and safe in her bed in Ireland, whereas this took place in London.
10. What does Stephanie not-so-affectionately call Skulduggery's hire vehicle?

Answer: The Canary Car

It was a 'canary yellow hatchback with lime-green seat covers'. She really did not like that car. She told Skulduggery that he only liked that car because he was in a disguise, and so no one would recognize him driving the car.
