Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Give me ____ in my lamp; keep it burning, burning, burning..."

Answer: oil

"...Give me oil in my lamp, I pray. Give me oil in my lamp, keep it burning, burning, burning. Keep it burning 'till the break of day." This song is about the first Hanukkah, where God kept the lamp burning for many days in a row, without the people having to add more oil.
2. "I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning ______, no turning _____..."

Answer: back

"...The cross before me, the world behind me. The cross before me, the world behind me. The cross before me, the world behind me. No turning back, no turning back." Jesus died on the cross to forgive people of their sins, and in order to follow Jesus, you should go towards him instead of back to the world you lived in before.
3. "________ row your boat ashore, Alleluia..."

Answer: Michael

"...Michael row your boat ashore, Alleluia. The river Jordan's deep and wide, Alleluia." Many Bible stories take place in rivers and lakes. In one story, Jesus walked on water, and in another he calmed a storm. In the Old Testament, God parted the Red Sea for Moses and the people of Israel.
4. "Do Lord, oh, do Lord, oh do ________ me..."

Answer: remember

"...Oh Lordy, do Lord, oh, do Lord, oh, do remember me. Do Lord, oh, do Lord, oh do remember me. Look away beyond the blue." This song is about wanting God to remember you and let you into heaven after you pass away.
5. "Allelu, Allelu, Allelu, Alleluia, _____ ___ the Lord..."

Answer: Praise Ye

"...Allelu, Allelu, Allelu, Alleluia, _____ ___ the Lord. Praise ye the Lord, Alleluia. Praise ye the Lord, Alleluia. Praise ye the Lord, Alleluia. Praise ye the Lord." This song is usually sung with two groups - one group sings the Allelu's, and the other sings the Praise Ye's.
6. "Kum Ba Ya, ___ ______, Kum Ba Yah..."

Answer: My Lord

"...Kum Ba Ya, my Lord, Kum Ba Ya. Kum Ba Ya, my Lord, Kum Ba Ya. Oh Lord, Kum Ba Ya." "Kum Ba Ya" means "Come by Me."
7. "Who built the ___? Noah! Noah!..."

Answer: ark

"...Who built the ark? Brother Noah built the ark." The story of Noah is in the book of Genesis in the Old Testament. At the end of the story, God puts a rainbow in the sky and promises never to flood the whole world ever again.
8. "Away in a _______, no crib for a bed..."

Answer: manger

"...The little Lord Jesus lay down his sweet head. The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay. The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay." We celebrate Jesus's birth at Christmas. He was God's son, born of the virgin Mary, and later died on the cross.
9. "It's me, it's me, it's me oh Lord; standin' in the need of ______..."

Answer: prayer

"...Not my mother, not my father, but it's me oh Lord; standin' in the need of prayer. Not my sister not my brother, but it's me oh Lord; standin' in the need of prayer." Prayer is a time that you can talk to God and ask Him for forgiveness, thank Him for all the great things he has done, and ask him for help for the future.
10. "______ in the Lord always, and again I say ______..."

Answer: Rejoice

"...Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice. Rejoice! Rejoice! And again I say rejoice. Rejoice! Rejoice! And again I say rejoice." This song, like many of the chapters in the Psalms, is a song of worship to God.
