His name is Mr. Zizmore. Before Stacey had him as a teacher, she thought that the name Zizmore sounded like someone with a lot of zits. She sure was embarassed when she actually met him!

Wes is twenty two years old. Even though he's much too old to date Stacey, who's only thirteen, she reasons to herself that when they're older, the difference won't seem as strange.

Stacey especially seems to think that Wes prefers seeing her in skirts and dresses, for some reason, so she sticks to those on the days that she has math class.

Stacey's already a natural blonde, so dyeing her hair wouldn't make much sense. However, another BSC member, Mallory, does dye her hair blonde on a trip to California.

Even though all of these actors are considered attractive, Stacey thinks that it's Tom Cruise that she sees on the first day of math class with Wes. This is slightly strange, as Tom Cruise is fairly short, and Stacey describes Wes as being on the tall side.

Stacey stays after school with Wes to help him grade math papers when he's swamped with work. Wes covers up the names of the students so she won't see which student got what score. It ends up getting late, and Wes offers to give her a ride to Claudia's house.

Stacey does have diabetes, so low blood sugar is an issue for her, but it doesn't come up in this book. Stacey has had boyfriends in the past, but she doesn't have one in this book. She's also a great math student, so she doesn't need extra math help.

Elvira is still a baby goat. The girls even get to see Mrs. Stone give her a bottle. But despite being young, she still gets into a lot of trouble.

Alan Grey is one of the most annoying boys in the eighth grade. Robert becomes Stacey's boyfriend later on in the series, but she hasn't met him yet in this book.
