The two boys are watching the Queen's Christmas message. Colin is not happy with his Christmas present of new shoes.
2. What is the name of Colin's little brother who gets a toy jet plane for Christmas?

Answer: Luke

Luke ends up in hospital on Christmas Day. Colin is very jealous because not only did Luke get a toy and not shoes for a present, but then he gets to travel in an ambulance.
3. Why does Colin go to England, to stay with his Uncle Bob and Aunty Iris?

Answer: His parents send him there.

Colin's mum and dad send him away, without telling him much. They just tell him Luke is going to die from cancer, and that he should go to stay in England.
4. Why does Colin decide that Luke is not going to die?

Answer: He is going to find the Best Doctor in the World who will fix it.

Colin has seen medical shows on television and cannot understand why they can't fix Luke if they can do all that other stuff. He thinks that these doctors must not be good enough and he needs to find someone to help them, and he decides the Queen may be able to help him find this doctor.

Answer: A hardware shop

His aunt and uncle take him to the "biggest Do-It-Yourself Hardware Centre in Greater London", for a fun afternoon out. This is not exactly what Colin has in mind for outings in England.

Colin was thrown out of a London hospital after trying to talk to a doctor that he thought looked like the 'Best Doctor in the World'. He sat down to have a cry outside and found Ted doing the same thing.
8. What does Colin do when he finds out the truth about Luke's illness from Dr Graham?

Answer: He lets down the tires of many of the cars in the carpark.

Ted finds a good cancer specialist, who rings the hospital in Sydney and finds out the details of the cancer Luke has. He tells Colin why it is fatal.

Answer: AIDS

Griff developed AIDS related cancer, and was very sick throughout the novel. Colin helps Ted spend time with Griff, when Ted cannot walk after he is beaten up.

Answer: Yes

Colin gets on the plane to Australia with the help of Ted. He surprises his parents in the hospital room, where he hugs his brother.
