Question 1 of 10
1. My very first quiz, which went on-line in 2008, consisted of ten questions about "Star Trek: Voyager", which at the time was my favorite "Star Trek" series. The female Caretaker was seen in which second season episode? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. Another "Star Trek" quiz I wrote dealt with the Mirror Universe. In "Mirror, Mirror", who was not involved in the transporter accident that resulted in four crew members being transported to the Mirror Universe? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. The first quiz I wrote in the Literature category was about the first three acts of William Shakespeare's play "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar". Portia was related to which character? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. My highest rated quiz was about the 1998 version of "The Parent Trap" (the one that starred Lindsay Lohan). Where did Hallie and Annie first meet each other after being separated for ten years? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. My 20th quiz (which was also my first quiz to be submitted to the General category) was titled "Mathematical Religion". In that quiz, players were given two questions regarding religion, both of which had a numerical answer. Then, they had to perform an operation (add, subtract, multiply, or divide) to those two numbers. For this question, add the number of the horsemen of the apocalypse to the number of years between the Rapture and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. My first quiz which had a title from the Author's Lounge was "Accounting for Kids". An asset is anything that a business owns. Which item is not an asset? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. In November 2012, a feature at FunTrivia called Adventures in Authoring was introduced. This helped me, because it had been quite a while since I felt like writing a quiz, and Adventures in Authoring helped me get back in the habit of doing so. My first quiz was a general knowledge quiz about dogs. Which of the following breeds is a dog breed? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. The second quiz I wrote that had a title from the Author's Lounge was "I Prefer Something Odd" which dealt with odd numbers. What is the first odd composite number? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. My first quiz for a commission was for Commission XXII: More or Less. The quiz title was "More of the Shame". I learned that red was the color for shame, so I wrote ten questions about red. On a stoplight in the United States, where is the red light often found? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. The 50th quiz I wrote was given the title "Which One Doesn't Belong?". Of the four items listed below, which one didn't belong? Which one would not be discussed in the same school subject as the others? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. My very first quiz, which went on-line in 2008, consisted of ten questions about "Star Trek: Voyager", which at the time was my favorite "Star Trek" series. The female Caretaker was seen in which second season episode?

Answer: Cold Fire

In "Cold Fire", the crew of the USS Voyager encountered a group of aliens called the Ocampa. Unlike other Ocampa, they left their home-world. They were being taught about the extent of their mental powers by the female Caretaker, a person they called Suspiria. Since the crew of Voyager was over 70,000 lightyears from Earth, they hoped that Suspiria would use her abilities to send the crew home.

However, she believed the rumors that the crew was hostile and refused to send them back.
2. Another "Star Trek" quiz I wrote dealt with the Mirror Universe. In "Mirror, Mirror", who was not involved in the transporter accident that resulted in four crew members being transported to the Mirror Universe?

Answer: Chekov

Captain Kirk, Doctor McCoy, Scott, and Uhura were on a mission to collect dilithium crystals from a group of aliens called the Halkans. Because of poor weather conditions, Kirk decided to have the team return to the ship and wait until a later time to continue negotiations.

It was because of these conditions, however, that the four of them transported to a parallel universe. Their counterparts from that universe transported to the main "Star Trek" universe. The four of them spent the rest of the episode trying to find a way back without revealing that they come from a parallel universe.
3. The first quiz I wrote in the Literature category was about the first three acts of William Shakespeare's play "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar". Portia was related to which character?

Answer: Marcus Brutus

Portia was the wife of Marcus Brutus, one of the people who conspired to kill Julius Caesar. Portia was concerned about Brutus and begged him to tell her what had happened, even kneeling at Brutus's feet. Eventually, Brutus told her about the conspiracy although she did nothing to stop it. Portia decided to stay in Rome while Brutus fled as a result of Brutus killing Caesar. Later in the play, Brutus told his fellow conspirator Cassius that Portia died by swallowing fire.

A little over two years later, I wrote a sequel to the quiz, which covered the final two acts of the play.
4. My highest rated quiz was about the 1998 version of "The Parent Trap" (the one that starred Lindsay Lohan). Where did Hallie and Annie first meet each other after being separated for ten years?

Answer: camp

Hallie Parker and Annie James were separated as babies and didn't meet again for another ten years. They both attended Camp Walden, but didn't come face-to-face until after Annie defeated Hallie in a fencing match. They were at first enemies who pulled pranks on each other, but after being sent to the isolation cabin all of that changed.

They decided to swap places to get their parents together. They spent the rest of their time at Camp Walden teaching the other to be like their twin.

Answer: 11

Four horsemen of the apocalypse + seven years between the Rapture and the Second Coming = eleven.

The four horsemen of the apocalypse are conquest (riding on a white horse), war (riding on a red horse), famine (riding on a black horse), and death (riding on a pale horse). These four horsemen are said to bring forth God's judgment in the final days.

The seven years between the Rapture and the Second Coming are known as the Tribulation. During this time, a total of twenty-one judgments will be sent to Earth. Many will die because of them, and many will become Christians. During this time, an enemy known as the Antichrist, will emerge and convince others to follow a world religion and lead others away from Christianity and other religions.
6. My first quiz which had a title from the Author's Lounge was "Accounting for Kids". An asset is anything that a business owns. Which item is not an asset?

Answer: sales

Sales are a type of revenue and not assets. This would be true whether a company receives the cash when the sale is made or whether cash is paid at a later date. Cash not only includes checks and coins, but also items such as bank drafts, money orders, change funds, and savings accounts, land, and patents are assets. Cash is a current asset. Land is an example of a fixed asset, an asset that is not sold in normal business operations. Patents are examples of intangible assets, a type of asset that is not physical. (Like a fixed asset, these types of assets are not sold in normal business operations.)

Answer: labrador

Labradors are well-behaved and even-tempered. In several countries, such as Australia, Canada, and the United States, they are one of the most popular breeds of dog. They have an average life span of ten to fourteen years. As for the other three choices, a lynx is a species of cat, a salmon is a type of fish, and a thoroughbred is a breed of horse (usually a racing horse).
8. The second quiz I wrote that had a title from the Author's Lounge was "I Prefer Something Odd" which dealt with odd numbers. What is the first odd composite number?

Answer: 9

Composite numbers are numbers divisible by numbers other than one and itself. Prime numbers are divisible by only one and the number itself. Nine is an example of a composite number. It is evenly divided by 1, 3, and 9. Nine is also the first odd composite number. Twenty-one is also a composite number, but seven and eleven are prime numbers.
9. My first quiz for a commission was for Commission XXII: More or Less. The quiz title was "More of the Shame". I learned that red was the color for shame, so I wrote ten questions about red. On a stoplight in the United States, where is the red light often found?

Answer: top

In the United States, there are three colors on a stoplight; they are (from top to bottom) red, yellow or orange, and green. A red light means stop and wait for the light to turn green. Sometimes, the lights are flashing. A flashing red light is treated like a stop sign.

In other words, a person stops for a while and if there is no oncoming traffic, continues driving. Also, there are occasionally horizontal stoplights. If that is the case, then the lights are side by side and are (in order from left to right) red, yellow or orange, and green.
10. The 50th quiz I wrote was given the title "Which One Doesn't Belong?". Of the four items listed below, which one didn't belong? Which one would not be discussed in the same school subject as the others?

Answer: gulf

Gulfs are most likely to be discussed in a geography class. The other three (molecules, enzymes, and elements) are items to be discussed in science class. The most likely type of science class in which a student would learn about them would be a chemistry-type class.
