Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which actress became famous for her countless weddings, her passionate performances in movies and her incredible violet eyes?

Answer: Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor (1932-2011) was a British-American actress who began her career as a child. She acted in many films and received numerous awards including two Academy Awards as Best Actress, in 1960 and in 1966. Her eight marriages to seven different men, her tumultuous personal life and her career have always been intertwined. Her acting career went into decline and in the early 1980s she practically stopped acting. Elizabeth Taylor has always continued to receive media attention primarily for her activism on the AIDS issue.

Many doubted the violet color of her eyes. According to ophthalmologist Dr. Norman Saffra, from the Maimonides Medical Center, NY, there are several gradations of blue and gray and violet may have been her typical pigmentation. The color depends on the amount of melanin and the eye's light absorption. After 1983 colored contact lenses were launched and now one can have any eye color one wants.
