Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. A perfect square; chambers of the human heart; 'fab' musical group.

Answer: Four

The number 4 is created when the number two is squared. The next perfect square to be created would be 9, which occurs when 3 is squared.

Fortunately, the other hints give this one up. There are four chambers of the human heart-- the left atrium, right atrium, left ventricle, and right ventricle. The 'fab' musical group, alluding to the 'Fab Four', refers to The Beatles.
2. Helium; faces of Harvey Dent; quantity of turtle doves.

Answer: Two

Helium would be the second element to appear on the Periodic Table; it has an atomic number of two.

Harvey Dent is the fictional man behind Two-Face, the famous Batman villain who appeared (along with The Joker) in "The Dark Knight" or, alternately, in "Batman Forever" (though we can forget about that one).

Our 'two turtle doves' would be a reference to the popular Christmas Carol "The Twelve Days of Christmas". It's the second gift, the first being the 'partridge in a pear tree'.
3. Three trimesters; cloud of happiness; Oscar-nominated 2009 musical.

Answer: Nine

Nine is the winner here since three trimesters would equal the nine months of pregnancy; each trimester should round out to three months in a typical birth cycle.

Cloud nine is a term used to refer to a state of happiness. This one's just a figure of speech.

The movie musical "Nine" was nominated for four Oscars (including one for Penelope Cruz) but didn't win any. Director Rob Marshall also directed Best Picture winner "Chicago". "Nine", however, flopped in the box office.
4. A Fibonacci number; highest Fujita rating; Charmeleon, in Kanto.

Answer: Five

Five is the fifth Fibonacci number. In sequence, you would read 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34... The next number in sequence is always the sum of the previous two.

The Fujita Scale is a science term used by meteorologists to measure the destructive force of a tornado. An F5 is the most dangerous, with, occasionally, wind speeds reaching past 300 mph.

Charmeleon is the fifth Pokemon to appear in the Kanto Pokedex. For video gamers, that one's from "Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow", all on the Game Boy Color.
5. J, in letters; X, at Trevi Fountain; 2, to a computer, perhaps.

Answer: Ten

J is the tenth letter of the English alphabet; not too much guesswork there.

Since the Trevi Fountain is a landmark in Rome, Italy, your second clue would likely reflect a Roman numeral. X is equal to 10.

In binary, the number two is represented by the number 10; the binary number 11 would be 3.
6. Song by U2...or Metallica; the third Xbox; rings to rule them all.

Answer: One

"One" was released by U2 in 1992 as a single from their album "Achtung, Baby"; it has since become one of the band's most famous releases and is well-known for its use in support of AIDS research. Metallica's "One", however, came from the "...And Justice for All" album in 1988. Coincidentally, its message is also one of peace and solidarity.

After releasing the Xbox and the Xbox 360, Microsoft followed it up with the interestingly-named Xbox One in 2014.

The one ring to rule them all is a fictional creation from "The Lord of the Rings" (and related books) by J. R. R. Tolkien. Some hobbits toss it into a volcano somewhere. You know the story... ;)
7. Sight-deprived rodents; Cronus' sons; wise gift-givers.

Answer: Three

Our 'sight-deprived rodents' would have to be mice; you'd know them from the children's song "Three Blind Mice", undoubtedly.

Cronus, the Greek Titan of the Harvest, had three sons, better known as Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, all major figures in mythology in their own rights. Zeus overthrew his father to become leader of the Gods. Cronus also had three daughters: Hera, Hestia, and Demeter.

Wise gift-givers would be the three wise men of the Bible who gave Jesus gold, frankincense, and myrrh upon his birth.
8. Callisto, by distance; Argentina, by size; "Deathly Hallows: Part 2".

Answer: Eight

Callisto is a moon of Jupiter and while it's the third largest satellite in our solar system and circling our largest planet, it's the eighth furthest from Jupiter itself. Discovered by Galileo Galilei, it's roughly the same size as the planet Mercury.

Argentina, meanwhile, is the eighth-largest country on the Earth by surface area. It's thirty-first in population.

While there were only seven "Harry Potter" novels in the main series, eight movies were made with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" splitting into two parts, ending the series.
9. Strings on a guitar; Shyamalan's 'Sense'; dots in a Braille cell.

Answer: Six

A standard guitar has six strings tuned to E, A, D, G, B, and E to allow musicians to play chords. That said, there are many variants using more strings than the typical six.

M. Night Shyamalan's 'sense' would be "The Sixth Sense", the Best Picture-nominated 1999 film starring Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment. The sixth sense, of course, refers to Osment's ability to see dead people.

Braille cells, created for the blind, consist of six (at the most) raised dots in a rectangular pattern. The ordering of the dots determines the letters/numbers being read by touch.
10. Definitely less than nine; certainly more than three; goes with 11.

Answer: Seven

For those looking for a way out of having to answer all the questions via trivial means, this one's your freebie. The number seven is most definitely less than nine but more than three. That said, it also happens to go well with the number 11, mainly because the international convenience store chain 7-11 (7-Eleven) popularized the combination a long time ago.

It was named as such because it was open from 7:00am to 11:00pm...though that's not completely true these days.
