The 1960s rock musical "Hair" was sub-titled "The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical". It premiered in 1967 and made its Broadway and West End debuts a year later. Although its notorious 'nude scene' brought threats of censorship upon the production, the scene lasted only 20 seconds and was dimly lit.

The second movement of Johann Sebastian Bach's 'Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major' was entitled 'Air'. Written in the early 18th Century, it was rearranged for violin and piano in the late 19th Century by August Wilhelmj, He transposed it from D Major to C Major so that it could be played on a single string of the violin, the G string.

The piece became popular in the 1980s when it was used in a TV advert for Hamlet cigars.
