"It Happened One Night" (1934) won all five Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Actor (Clark Gable), Best Actress (Claudette Colbert), Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. This was Clark Gable's only Oscar.

"It's a Wonderful Life" (1946) starring James Stewart, Donna Reed and Thomas Mitchell was nominated for six Oscars winning only one. "Ivanhoe" (1952) starring Robert Taylor and Elizabeth Taylor was nominated for a number of Oscars without success.
