Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Traveling along the path to nowhere I came across a surprising scene. There he was, a young boy named Jack who was heading to town to sell his cow. Instead of selling the cow what did he trade it for?

Answer: Magic beans

The young boy who was supposed to sell his cow traded it for some magic beans instead. The boy's name was Jack, of course, and his story is quite a fairy tale. Although the origin of "Jack and the Beanstalk" is unclear, a fellow named Benjamin Tabart was the first person to have the story put into print way back in 1807. By 1842, Henry Cole had made the tale quite popular in "The Home Treasury" (1842). Joseph Jacobs rewrote the story in "English Fairy Tales" (1890).

In the story, the beans magically grew overnight into a huge stalk that went up into the clouds.

A giant lived there and he had a singing golden harp as well as a hen that laid golden eggs. Being a clever boy, Jack was eventually able to get both the harp and the hen. He defeated the giant and was then able to provide for his family.
2. I continued my stroll and found myself in the middle of a movie set. Both Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock were practicing their lines. It was like magic! I was twinkled back in time to 1998 when this film was released. Which movie had swallowed me in?

Answer: Practical Magic

"Practical Magic" (1998) was based on the novel "Practical Magic" (1995) by Alice Hoffman. Griffin Dunne directed this film starring Sandra Bullock (Sally) and Nicole Kidman (Gillian) as sisters. They were raised by their aunts and always knew they were different from others.

They learned practical magic from their aunts, but it seemed that their family was also cursed. Men that the sisters fell in love with suffered untimely deaths due to the curse. As adults, Sally was the quiet one and Gillian was the ardent one. Together they fought the curse and reigned victorious.
3. As I continued on my merry way, I heard music and some lamenting lyrics about a magic dragon. I walked toward the sound and saw Peter, Paul and Mary in the courtyard playing the song. What was the name of the dragon?

Answer: Puff

In 1959 Leonard Lipton wrote a poem about a dragon and a boy. Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey and Mary Travers based their lyrics on Lipton's poem and came up with "Puff, the Magic Dragon". The song was released in 1962 and reached the number two position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It also reached the number ten spot on Billboard's R&B chart. The song is about a boy named Jackie Paper who played with Puff the Magic Dragon. As Jackie grew up, his interest in play and imagination was replaced by more adult things. Puff was left alone and became very sad, living by the sea in a town called Honalee.
4. After all of that walking, I was feeling a little hungry. Luckily I had a box of Nestle (formerly Rowntree Mackintosh) chocolates to munch on. Can you tell me the brand name of those chocolates?

Answer: Black Magic

Black Magic chocolates were introduced in 1933 as the first publicly affordable box of chocolates. The first advertisements encouraged sales by directing the market toward men. It was suggested that purchasing these fine chocolates as gifts for the love of their lives would be a romantic and wonderful thing.

The Black Magic box came in only a basic black. Some of the assorted flavors snuggled inside of the chocolates were cherry, caramel, strawberry, orange and more. These chocolates became very popular and saved Rowntree from going out of business.

It sparked the production of other treats such as Aero, Smarties and Kit Kat chocolate bars. Other products that grew in popularity included the Polo chocolate bar Dairy Box chocolates. Nowadays the Black Magic box is black with white lettering and a red ribbon drawn on which makes it look gift wrapped.
5. Satisfied from eating a treat, my eyes were drawn toward an online video game that I saw someone playing. I decided to walk over, and I noticed the word "Frogster" in the corner of the game. I asked, "What is that game called"?

Answer: Runes of Magic

"Runes of Magic" (RoM), a multiplayer role-playing game, was developed by the Taiwanese and a business called Runewaker Entertainment. Frogster Interactive adapted the game into English, and in 2009 the game was launched in stages (chapters). There are collectible "Monster Cards" that give points and information to the player. Magical pets are obtainable and can help the player in some combats. Each character is provided with a place of residence and a housekeeper. The residence can be decorated with items bought from the Cash Stop or made with recipes. The main currency of the game is called in-game gold.

Some of the released "Chapters" include:

Chapter I: Rise of the Demon Lord (Release Date: March 19, 2009)
Chapter II: The Elven Prophecy (Release Date: September 15, 2009)
Chapter III: The Elder Kingdoms (Release Date: May 19, 2010)
