Answer: Russia

The White Sea is an inlet of the Barents Sea off the coast of northwest Russia. It is one of four seas on Earth whose English name is named after a colour, the others being Black Sea, Red Sea and Yellow Sea.

2. Which one of these "white" bands was formed in 1978 by former Deep Purple vocalist David Coverdale?

Answer: Whitesnake

Coverdale formed Whitesnake in 1978, naming them after his first solo album. The band were still performing in 2017, and had had over 40 different members, with Coverdale being the only constant amongst them. Some of the better known musicians to have belonged to the band include drummer Cozy Powell, ex-Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord and guitarist Steve Vai.

Answer: Chicago White Sox

None of the other teams exist. The Chicago White Sox won the 1917 World Series vs the New York Giants, but two years later infamously threw the series vs the Cincinnati Reds. The "Curse of the Black Sox" then hung over the franchise until 2005, when they defeated the Houston Astros.

White Rose were active in Germany between 1942 and 1943, demonstrating against Hitler's Nazi regime. They used non-violent methods of demonstration, but it ended in tragedy with the Gestapo arresting many of their members, with most being sentenced to death.

The white rhinoceros is the largest sub-species of rhino, and can be found in the wild in Africa. The white wagtail is a bird that can be found throughout much of Europe and Asia as well as northern Africa. The white perch is a fish also known as the white crappie, and is native to North America. There is no such animal as a white badger.

The Confederate States of America existed between 1861 and 1865. The first capital was in Montgomery, Alabama, before moving to Richmond, Virginia, a few months later. Confederate President Jefferson Davis and his wife Varina made their home in the Montgomery mansion, which is located on Washington Avenue, for those few months.
