Answer: Argentina

Some would claim that this mountain in the Andes is also the highest peak in Chile. But according to my sources it´s at the Uspallata Pass near the Chilean border. It was first climbed in 1897.
2. Nevado Ojos del Salado, 6880 m.

Answer: Chile

This mountain, also in the Andes, was first climbed in 1937. It's on the Argentina/Chile border with one peak on either side of the border.
3. Nevado Huascaran, 6768 m.

Answer: Peru

This Andes peak is in the Ankash region, Peru. It is named after the Peruvian Inca Prince Huascar (1495-1533).
4. Nevado Sajama, 6542 m.

Answer: Bolivia

This peak is in the Andes, in Oruro province, near the Chilean border.
5. Chimborazo, 6267 m.

Answer: Ecuador

This peak is in the Cordillera Real Mts, Quito province. The mountain was ascended by von Humboldt and Bonpland in 1802. At that time this was the highest point reached by man (although they only got near the top and not to the top.
6. Denali, 6194 m.

Answer: USA

This mountain is in Denali National Park, Alaska. It wasn't known that it was the continent's highest peak until 1896 when it was discovered by Dickey and named after president McKinley. The name was changed during the Obama presidency to its native name of Denali.
7. Mt. Logan, 5959 m.

Answer: Canada

This peak is in the St.Elias Mts., Yukon, near Alaska border.
It's the second highest peak in N.America.
8. Nevado del Huila, 5750 m.

Answer: Colombia

This is a volcano in central Colombia, near Popayán.
9. Citlaltepetl, 5700 m.

Answer: Mexico

Once called Pico de Orizaba, this peak is in Veracruz state.
It's an inactive volcano. It has been renamed its Maya name Citlaltepetl which means mountain of the sun. It was a sacred mountain to the Mayas. From a temple in the mountainside a sacred fire was ever kept burning.
10. Pico Bolivar, 5007 m.

Answer: Venezuela

Formerly called La Perida, this peak is in Bolivar state, south of Ciudad Bolivar. An important iron ore was discovered here in 1947. The mountain still has rich sources of iron which is sent by train to Puerto Ordaz and shipped to USA and Europe.
11. Volcan Tajumulco, 4211 m.

Answer: Guatemala

This is the highest point in Central America. It´s a volcanic mountain.
12. Cerro Chirripo, 3810 m.

Answer: Costa Rica

Also called Grande Chirripo, this peak is in the Cordillera de Talamanca Mts.
13. Gunnbjørn Fjeld, 3700 m.

Answer: Greenland

This is near the coast of east central Greenland. It's named after a Norwegian who was going from Norway to Iceland in 870. Instead he was taken by the wind and came to Greenland by mistake. In the Viking days the mountain was called Kvitsenk.
14. Volcan Barru, 3475 m.

Answer: Panama

This mountain, also called Chiriqui, is near the border to Costa Rica.
15. Pico Duarte, 3175 m.

Answer: Dominican Republic

Formerly called Monte Trujillo after the Dominican dictator, this peak is in the Cordillera Central Mts.
16. Pico da Neblina, 3014 m.

Answer: Brazil

Formerly Pico da Bandeira was thought to be the highest mountain in Brazil. Pico da Neblina was just discovered 1953. It´s near the Venezuelan border and the name means "Mountain of the Mists".
17. Cerro Las Minas, 2870 m.

Answer: Honduras

18. Mt. Roraima, 2835 m.

Answer: Guyana

Mt. Roraima is in the border area between Guyana, Brazil and Venezuela.
Roraina is also the name of a Brazilian state.
19. Mt. La Selle, 2680 m.

Answer: Haiti

This mountain is in south east Haiti.
20. Mogoton, 2438 m.

Answer: Nicaragua
