While the Amazon is not the longest river in the world, it is the largest river in the world by volume. The Amazon is home to over 3,000 recognized species of fish, including the dangerous piranha and bull shark. New species are still being discovered there even today!
10. Murray River

Answer: Australia

The Murray River is the longest river in Australia. As the population of Australia has grown, the health of the Murray River has declined. Many native and unique species of fish and animals are now extinct or endangered. One of these fish species, the carp, has actually contributed to the problem by destroying aquatic plants.
