1711 km north of Brisbane, Cape Melville is situated on the east coast of Australia. It is the home to a national park by the same name. Cape Cretin and Cape Girgir are both on New Guinea, and Cape Siri is located on an island in the Papuan Louisiade Archipelago.

Answer: Western Australia

The Eighty Mile Beach is on the Australian west coast. It lies between two towns - Port Hedland and Broome. The beach is famous for fishing and shell collecting. There is a 'Ninety Mile Beach' in Victoria and a 'Seventyfive Mile Beach' in Queensland.

On the north coast of the island is the city of Wewak, and to the west, across the border in the Indonesian section of New Guinea is Puncak Jaya (5030m), which is in fact a mountain.
