Whyalla is the main breeding ground for cuttlefish in the Southern Hemisphere. The town was established in 1920.

Answer: Kojonup

All the towns mentioned have Noongar names, but Kojonup is the place of the "kodj", or stone axe. The suffix "up" usually means "place of" or "water", so Nornalup is the place of "norn" or snakes, Gnowangerup is home to the "gnow" or mallee fowl, while Jerramungup is the "place of tall yate trees" (yate being a species of eucalyptus).

Answer: San Fernando Valley

Yes, ever since 2002. I have been a Valley Girl (California, USA). "Like, ohmigawd!" Actually, the Valley's not such a bad place to live. It's much less crowded than my old neighborhood of West Hollywood... at least I can always find a parking spot at the local Starbucks!
4. Rio de Janeiro is Gloriabrazil's home. It has a unique landscape. Tourists have many places to enjoy: beaches, mountains, lakes, and forests. When visiting colorful Rio de Janeiro, especially on a hot day, you must go to one of our most striking natural attractions with about 5000 species of plants from all over the world. Answer: Jardim Botânico (Botanical Garden)

Rio de Janeiro is in Brazil. In half of the Botanical Garden park's area, the original vegetation has been preserved. It was founded by Dom João VI (1808) for the acclimatization of tropical plants. There is also a specialist library, two museums, the Botanical Museum, a theater, a coffee shop and the Museum de Plantas Secas (Herbatarium), which is used for research purposes.
5. One of our members is kufan888, who calls the sunflower state of Kansas her home. Her city, in the northeastern portion of the state, is situated along the banks of the Kansas and Wakarusa rivers. In which of the following US cities do kufan888 and her beloved Kansas University Jayhawks reside?

Answer: Lawrence

Lawrence, Kansas has a lot of rich history. Confederate guerrillas led by William Quantrill raided the city during the 'Bleeding Kansas' era of the Civil War. Much of the city was burnt down, and as many as 200 men were killed in what would later be called the Lawrence Massacre.

This profoundly liberal city is also where the sport of basketball was invented by Dr. James Naismith who was the first coach for the Kansas Jayhawks.

Answer: Appalachian Trail

The Appalachian Trail is the longest marked trail in the U.S.A. Located between Georgia and Maine, it is 2,174mi/3500km long, crossing 14 states, and is maintained by volunteer groups. The Maryland section spans the distance between the Potomac River and the Pennsylvania border (Mason-Dixon Line).

Greenwich in both London and Sydney are approximately five miles (8klm) from the respective 'centres' of their cities.
