2. The second-longest land border in the world actually crosses into parts of Asia and Europe. With what nation does Russia share a 6,846 km (4,254 mi) border that officially came into existence in 1991 after the dissolution of the USSR?

Answer: Kazakhstan

At the time that the border was demarcated in 1930 it separated two USSR administrative territories: Kazak ASSR and Russia. Answer: There are no dedicated border crossings.

In contrast to the western border which has no border crossings, the China-Russia eastern border has 26 including three with railway lines. The western border between the two nations lies in a high-altitude area where roads are not safe. Not surprisingly, China and Russia lead the world in their total length of land borders at 22,147 km (13,762 mi) and 20,017 km (12,438 mi) respectively.
