Answer: Canada

Felix Grundy, of the House of Representatives brought up the idea of attacking the Indians' base in Canada, which seemed an easy target, not very dangerous, and prosperous. Others thought Florida was a better target.
2. In what areas of the United States was support for the War of 1812 strongest?

Answer: West and Southwest

Westerners were angered by the terrible treatment of American soldiers by the British, and thought war was the only way to solve the problem. Those in New England and the Middle States almost completely opposed the war.
3. What area did America lose to Britain in the Treaty of Ghent?

Answer: No land was lost

Britain attempted to get the Great Lakes and parts of Maine, but the United States would not allow it. In the end, the Treaty of Ghent did not do much but restore the lands to the way they were before the war.

Answer: The Hartford resolutions

Although many things contributed to the end of the Federalist Party, the Hartford Resolutions finally killed it off. The Hartford Conventions produced three envoys to demand financial support, and as it was right after the news of the victory at New Orleans, it made the Federalists look dumb, and the party's last presidential hopeful was beaten by James Monroe.

Debtors prisons became over crowded and the Bank of the United States forced the foreclosures of mortgages on farms during the Panic, which hurt the lower classes. However, when someone wished to buy land, they did not have to buy as much, which made it easier for more people to buy it.

Answer: No more slaves would be allowed to brought in to Missouri

In addition to not allowing more slaves in Missouri, it called for the eventual emancipation of children born to slaves already in Missouri. It was not put in place, the Senate defeated it.

Answer: All of these answers are correct

The westward movement began in colonial times, and it inreased during this time of the early 19th century. Cheap land was particulary appealing to European immigrants. The land was pacified by the defeat of the Indians in the Northwest and South, and highways were built that made the routes to the Ohio Valley much easier to travel.
10. What was the "steamboat case", where New York was going to bestow waterborne commerce between New York and New Jersey called?

Answer: Gibbons v. Ogden

New York had tried to allow a personal party to monopolize the waterborne commerce between New York and New Jersey. John Marshall, the famed Chief Justice, reminded the state that interstate commerce was a matter that was strictly under the control of Congress.
