Sickles, who was very instrumental in preserving the battlefield, claimed that the the entire battlefield was a memorial to him and that he didn't need a statue to immortalize him. Meanwhile Sykes played such a small role in the battle that a statue of him was never erected.

There are three statues of of Gen. Reynolds. One is located in the National Soldiers' Cemetary, one is an equestrian statue located on the Chambersburg Road near Stone Avenue, and one is located on the Pennsylvania State Memorial on Cemetary Ridge.
