1956 saw the Italian ocean liner Andrea Doria with 1,134 passengers, collide with the largest Swedish liner, Stockholm, in a heavy fog off Nantucket Island. While everyone aboard the Andrea Doria had to abandon ship, the 750 passengers and crew of the Stockholm were able to remain on board.

This blast occurred during the Atlanta Olympic Games of 1996 on July 27. The pipe bomb went off at 1:25am EST in the crowded Centennial Park.
