4. William Dawes joined Paul Revere in his ride to warn the others of the British soldiers. What was the name of the third man that rode with Paul Revere and William Dawes that night?

Answer: Samuel Prescott

William Dawes was a tanner that lived in Boston and Samuel Prescott was a physician. All three men took different routes to get to Lexington so if one of them was caught, there was at least two more that could warn the other towns.

Paul Revere saw two signal lights that night in April. Paul crossed the Charles River and then rode to Lexington to warn the two men that the British wanted to capture.
8. Did Paul Revere arrive at the boarding house in Lexington first to warn the men?

Once Paul arrived and told the men about the British coming to arrest them, he was told that neither of his friends had arrived yet. Thirty minutes later, William Dawes arrived and they set off together to warn the other towns.
9. What city and state were Paul Revere and his friends in when they were captured by British soldiers?

Answer: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Longfellow wrote "Paul Revere's Ride" in 1860. With Longfellow's account being so bold, many people thought that Paul Revere's role in the American Revolution was exaggerated.
