The French loss of Quebec resulted in the total downfall of New France. Britain's territory in North America steadily increased till the Thirteen Colonies rose in rebellion in the American Revolution.
3. When did the Battle of Fort Duquesne take place?

Answer: September 14, 1758

This battle ended badly for George Washington, who was practically the "owner" of the fort. The fort was taken over and renamed Fort Pitt, after William Pitt.

Ticonderoga was the name given to Carillon after the battle. This was one of the fiercest battles in the French and Indian War.
