Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who commanded the The Fifth Carrier Division for the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Battle of Coral Sea?

Answer: Hara Chuichi

The Battle of Coral Sea was one of the battles of WW II and another Japanese defeat. The Americans lost U.S.S.Lexington,Neosho, and Sims as well as bomb damage to the U.S.S.Yorktown. The Japanese lost the Aircraft Carrier Shoho and had the Fleet carrier Shokaku badly damaged and out of action for months. As well the carrier Zuikaku was severly depleated of aircraft.
This was to prove to be serious a month later when the battle of Midway was fought and they were not available to take part in the fight.
the Yorktown, thought to be damaged enough to be laid up for months was actually repaired in 48 hrs. and took part at Midway which was a resounding defeat of the Japanese Navy which lost 4 of it's best carriers as opposed to one for the U.S.Navy.

6. What was the nickname commonly used for General Douglas McArthur?

Answer: Dugout Doug

I don't know where I found this nickname but it was given in the text for the General. I believe it has to do with his hold out in the Phillipines before he evacuated. I've had the following sent to me from a player in regards to this subject
"The soldiers on Corregidor nicknamed Gen. McArthur "Dugout Doug" because he was thought to be taking cover in the tunnels of Corregidor, while soldiers on the island and Bataan were subjected to the daily horrors of war."
