This resulted in Louis XIII coming to the throne. Henry IV was christened as a Roman Catholic and raised by his mother as a protestant. He was stabbed to death by Francois Ravaillac whilst riding in his coach in Paris.

Louis XIV was just 4 years old when he came to the throne. He did not have actual power until he was 23 when his first minister died. Louis XIV was 76 when he died. His reign of 72 years is the longest in European history.
