Indira Gandhi's political career began with an unofficial position - as an assistant to her father, Jawaharlal Nehru (the first Prime Minister of India). In addition to her role as Prime Minister, she held several other posts beginning with her appointment as Minister of Information and Broadcasting in 1964.

There followed other offices, including her election in 1966 as only the second woman in the world to lead a government. She was assassinated in 1984, by two of her own bodyguards.

Answer: Woodstock

The Woodstock Festival took place in White Lake, New York over a rainy three days in August, 1969. Originally planned around the musicians who called the area near Woodstock home, changes were made that eventually placed the venue at a dairy farm in White Lake.

Originally intended as a profit-making endeavor, due to the unexpected number of attendees (approximately 400,000), and the inability of the organizers to contain the area, it became a 'free concert' - although more than 186,000 tickets were purchased prior to the event.

The concert was at first a money-losing venture, but following the release of 1970's "Woodstock" film, and associated products, the event became profitable.

The 1966 victory was England's first, and the final was held at Wembley Stadium. Due to being the host country, the mascot was England's World Cup Willie (a lion). Prior to the competition, the trophy was stolen, but eventually found by a collie named Pickles - who was allowed to attend the celebration banquet.

5. Right on! I found an envelope in Davy Jones' locker that held a pair of ticket stubs to the film premier of 1970's "Love Story", starring Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal. The movie was based on a book written by which American author?

A slang term for 'balloon pants', loon pants generally did not have pockets, and they were usually tighter through the thigh, then flared out from the knee, unlike traditional bell-bottoms. Often worn with sandals and t-shirts, they were still popular through the 1970s.

7. There is a folder of newspaper headlines in Davy Jones' locker, and one of them is just too much - a headline about a truly bad scene - a fiery disaster in 1967 that killed three crew members. They were the crew to what type of vehicle?

Planned as the first manned Apollo lunar-landing flight, Apollo 1 caught fire during a launch simulation. The cabin fire was not caused by a fuel problem, but by what was determined to be design flaws in the command module's construction. The disaster occurred January 27th, 1967 - less than a month before the planned launch - and killed all three crew members; Virgil "Gus" Grissom, Edward H. White II and Roger B. Chaffee.

The fire resulted in numerous design and safety changes in future modules and procedures.

The band formed in 1962, with six members - Brian Jones, Charlie Watts, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman, Ian Stewart and Mick Jagger. "Brown Sugar" is the first track on their "Sticky Fingers" album, and as a single it reached number one in the US and number two in the UK.

9. Sifting through piles of news clippings in Davy Jones' locker, I come across one that blows my mind. The clipping tells of a military action in Vietnam that took place during an agreed-upon cease-fire in 1968. Do you know what this operation was called?

Answer: Tet Offensive

In 1968 the Tet holiday (lunar new year) was supposed to have been the occasion of a two-day cease fire - agreed to by both North and South Vietnam. The attack launched by the Viet Cong - which violated the cease-fire - began during the morning of January 30th.

While the surprise attack took the South Vietnamese and their allies unawares, the end result was not what the Viet Cong had hoped for, and ultimately resulted in a military defeat for them.

10. What a gas! I found a small scrapbook in Davy Jones' locker, and inside are invitations, birthday cards and other such mementos. One caught my attention - an invitation to a wedding being held on May 1, 1967 at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, a wedding between Priscilla Wagner - and what famous singer?

Answer: Elvis Presley

While they first met in 1959, when Priscilla was 14 years old, and she moved to Graceland in 1963, they did not marry until 1967. Colonel Parker - Elvis' manager - made sure that the wedding got plenty of publicity, and afterwards the couple had a short honeymoon in Palm Springs, California. They separated in 1972, and their divorce was granted in 1973.
