It actually stands for Winterguard International. Winter Guards International contains most of the winterguards in the world.

Sabres are about three feet long, wrapped in tape, made of metal, and are genally tossed in the air.

Answer: True

Rifles used in guard shows are actually a little longer than three feet long and are made of wood, usually white.

Answer: Independent World

You are allowed to compete in an Independent World guard no matter what age you are, as long as you keep making the cut. However, the cut off age for all other guards is 23, so if your birthday is after March 31, you are allowed to compete.
