Commonly made with sherry, the trifle is a traditional dessert which can be very tasty. Personally not my favourite though I have fond memories of enjoying it as a child.

Tiramisu is a personal favourite of mine. Although I don't drink coffee I love coffee related desserts. Tiramisu was first recorded in the late 1960's and is still enjoyed today in many countries.
4. A family emergency called me home but on the way I had a stopover in Paris, I took the opportunity to make a delicious new friend while at dinner that night. I had a great time with a choux pastry ball filled with cream and topped with a chocolate sauce. Sated, I rested well until I headed for my flight in the morning. Answer: Profiteroles

An eclair is not ball shaped, bouillabaisse is not a dessert, it is a fish stew, and croquembouche is a cone shaped dessert made of profiteroles bound with caramel.

Answer: Black forest gateau

The gateau is not actually named after the Black Forest but it is probably what most people associate with it.

The only one free on the night was an ice cream dessert with peaches and a raspberry sauce. Invented at the Savoy Hotel in London to honour a famous soprano, who had I managed to meet up with?

Answer: Peach Melba

Named after Nellie Melba who was an Australian soprano, very famous during the late nineteenth/early twentieth century.

Answer: Deep-fried Mars Bar

Allegedly originating in a chip shop in 1995 the deep fried Mars Bar has been the idea for deep frying other chocolate bars in other countries. Although not common or standard fare at all for Scotland or any other location, it is still occasionally popular with tourists and curious people.
8. I was very excited today to find a very unique dessert! Hot and cold; ice cream, sponge and meringue; cooked? What has tickled my fancy today?

9. Sometimes we all have to bow to external opinions, personally I don't like cooked fruit but an overwhelming amount of people do. I decided that I shouldn't be prejudiced and made the choice to meet with a legendary dessert, even older than my friend the trifle, dating back to the 1300's. Consisting of a pomaceous fruit baked in a pastry casing, sometimes served with ice cream or whipped cream, what I am befriending?

Answer: Apple pie

Inspiration for a chain of films, enjoyed internationally, hundreds of years old and yet I still don't eat it. However, I appreciate how beautiful they look and the smell of a fresh pie when it comes out of the oven.
10. The best thing about new experiences is having someone to share it with so I called up my best friend to tell them all about my delicious adventures. No stranger to being enjoyed by many; my friend is very versatile and delicious. Some of the many variations of this fried dough dessert are a ring variety or a filled version with cream or jam with a multitude of toppings.

Answer: Doughnut

It had to end on doughnuts! Truly, I don't eat them often and they are not necessarily my favourite (Tirimisu for the win), however they are the inspiration for my username and they were the subject for my first Funtrivia quiz. I do admit to visiting Krispy Kremes' whenever I am visiting family in Dubai.
