Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. If you had the 'monk on' what would you be?

Answer: Sulking

This is mainly used in Yorkshire (I think!)
2. What is the Cockney rhyming slang term for stairs?

Answer: apples and pears

3. What are people from Liverpool called?

Answer: Scousers

Thanks to Ali8 I now know that it comes from a type of stew that Liverpudlians eat, called Scouse.
4. What is a sod in British slang? (not literally)

Answer: A bad or silly person

5. What part of a car is a bonnet?

Answer: Hood

6. What is a 'Local'?

Answer: A pub

I have about 6 locals! :)
7. What is your 'loaf'?

Answer: Head

From 'loaf of bread', which rhymes with head.
8. What is a 'Pommie'?

Answer: Someone from England

I know that this isn't really British slang, but it does relate to British people. It may have originally comes from POHM - Prisoner of Her Majesty, a term for the people who were sent to the penal colony in Australia. Thanks to Awkins and Lizbit for that!
9. What is another term for your girlfriend?

Answer: Your bird

I hate it when I get referred to as a bird!
10. What would you do with a banger?

Answer: Eat it

It's a sausage! Because they go BANG sometimes when you cook them! Also a firework, or, if it was referring to a car, you could drive it (not far, though, a 'banger' is not a very good car!)
