2. What show doesn't belong in this list?

3. Which Broadway figure doesn't belong with the other three?

Answer: George S. Kaufman

Abe Burrows, Bob Fosse and Hugh Lambert all worked on the original Broadway production of "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." (Mr. Burrows directed, Mr. Fosse was credited with "musical staging" and Mr. Lambert was the choreographer.)

George S. Kaufman was not involved in this production at all.
4. Which performer doesn't belong on this list?

Answer: Janis Paige

Ginger Rogers, Martha Raye and Betty Grable all played the lead role of "Mrs. Dolly Gallagher Levi" during the original Broadway run of "Hello, Dolly!". Janis Paige did not.
5. Of these four shows, one doesn't belong. Which is it?

Answer: One Touch of Venus

Mary Martin was offered the lead role in the Broadway Musicals "Oklahoma!", "My Fair Lady," and "Miss Moffat", and turned all three down. (Although of course the first two went on to become great hits, "Miss Moffat" closed out of town.)

Miss Martin did accept the lead role in "One Touch of Venus," originally written for Marlene Dietrich.
6. One song doesn't belong with the other three. Which one is it?

Answer: Public Enemy Number One

"Tradition," "Christopher Street," and "Colonel Buffalo Bill" are all the first songs in their respective Broadway musicals ("Fiddler On The Roof," "Wonderful Town," and "Annie Get Your Gun.")

"Public Enemy Number One" is the second-act opener in "Anything Goes."
7. Three of the following shows had something in common--but one doesn't. Which show is not "in step" with the other three?

"1776," "Pippin" and "Man of La Mancha" all played in one long act with no intermission when first presented on Broadway. "Chicago" was presented in two acts with one intermission.
8. A song doesn't belong. Which one?

Answer: I Might Fall Back On You

"Mis'ry's Comin' Roun'", "It's Getting Hotter In The North" and "A Pack of Cards" were all written for the original Broadway production of "Show Boat" but not used in that production. ("Mis'rys' Comin' Roun'" was included in the 1994 Broadway revival of "Show Boat.")

"I Might Fall Back On You" was written for the Broadway production of "Show Boat" and was in the first Broadway production.
9. Which Broadway musical is out of place with the other three on this list?
