Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How would one correctly spell the largest city in Wisconsin?

Answer: Milwaukee

Milwaukee has only one "l" and has a "w" after the "l". It's a city located in the mid-west on Lake Michigan.
2. What is the correct spelling of the patriotic state located in New England whose capital is Boston?

Answer: Massachusetts

People often put either an extra "s" or one less "t". Massachusetts is located east of New York, south of Vermont and New Hampshire, and north of Connecticut and Rhode Island.
3. What is the correct spelling of the largest city in New Mexico?

Answer: Albuquerque

The spelling doesn't seem at all like the pronunciation. Albuquerque is a city located around the central part of New Mexico.
4. What is the correct spelling of the third largest city in Ohio?

Answer: Cincinnati

Many people either put an extra "n' or "t" or leave out an "n". Cincinnati is located on the Ohio River, just north of Kentucky.
5. How would someone spell the name of both a southern state and long river?

Answer: Mississippi

I believe there's also a song about the spelling. Remember, four "s"s, four "i"s, and two "p"s. The capital of the state is Jackson.
6. What is the correct spelling of Florida's capital city?

Answer: Tallahassee

Tallahassee has two "l"s, two "e"s, and two "s"s. It is located in the Florida panhandle and isn't very populated.
7. How would you spell the state whose capital is Hartford correctly?

Answer: Connecticut

Many people seem to forget the "c" in between the "e" and "t" or they add another "t" at the end. Connecticut is east of New York, south of Massachusetts, and west of Rhode Island.
8. Which of the following is the correct spelling for this city in Arizona?

Answer: Tucson

Although this is a short word, it is amazing how confusing it can be. Is it an "o" or an "a" or which comes first the "s" or the "c"? No one knows. Tucson is a city located in the southern part of Arizona. It is near the border with Mexico.
9. How would one spell the largest city in Alaska?

Answer: Anchorage

It's spelled with a "c" not a "k" and it does not have a "d" or an "i". Anchorage is a city located near the southern part of Alaska.
10. How would one correctly spell the state whose capital is Nashville?

Answer: Tennessee

Tennessee has two "n"s, two "s"s and a double "e" at the end. It is located around the southern/central part of the country.
