"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" is a modern interpretation of a story in the Bible. The music is by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who is my absolute favorite composer of all time. Some songs are "Any Dream Will Do" and "Close Every Door."

"Cats," another musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is based on poems from the collection, "Possum's Book of Practical Cats" by TS Eliot. It doesn't really have a plot, but it's a lot of fun. One really well known song from "Cats" is "Memory."

Answer: "Guys and Dolls"

"Guys and Dolls" is a musical set in New York City about two men, Nathan Detroit and Sky Masterson, who are part of group of illegal gamblers. The musical is about Nathan's struggle with his fiancee of 14 years and Sky's struggle with his girlfriend. It has amazing songs like "A Bushel and a Peck" and "Guys and Dolls."

Answer: "Hairspray"

"Hairspray" is set in Baltimore and is about a teenage girl, Tracey Turnblad, who wants to be a dancer very badly, but when she makes it onto "The Corny Collins Show," the dance television show she has obsessed over, she is unhappy because her black friends, who are only on the show during "Negro Day," aren't with her.

This show is amazing. Some songs are, "You Can't Stop the Beat," "Big, Blonde, and Beautiful," and "I Know Where I've Been."

Answer: "A Chorus Line"

"A Chorus Line" is a hilarious musical about a group of dancers who are trying to make it on Broadway in the chorus. As the audition goes on, they realize connections between some of them and a funny musical quickly turns into a dramatic show. Some of my favorite songs are "At the Ballet" and "One."

Answer: "Fiddler on the Roof"

"Fiddler on the Roof" is a funny, yet moving musical that focuses on a man and his family in the Jewish community of Anatevka. His daughters break many traditions, which causes the family to fall apart. Some good songs are "If I Were a Rich Man," "Sunrise, Sunset," and "Tradition."

Answer: "Phantom of the Opera"

"Phantom of the Opera" is yet another Andrew Lloyd Webber musical about a man who conceals himself from the world because of a facial disfigurement, by hiding in his dungeon lair of a Paris opera house. He falls in love with an amazing singer in the opera and takes her down into his lair to sing. Songs include "Think of Me" and "All I Ask of You."

Answer: "Wicked"

"Wicked" is the deconstruction of the classic story "The Wizard of Oz." The protagonist is Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. The story shows her journey to becoming the Wicked Witch of the West, from high school to when she "melted." Some amazing songs include "Popular," "Defying Gravity," and "For Good."

Answer: "Rent"

"Rent" is my absolute favorite musical. It is a rock opera by Jonathan Larson. It is about a group of eight friends who are living in a tent city on Avenue B of New York City. They struggle with paying their rent and many struggle with HIV. My favorite songs are "Seasons of Love," "Take Me or Leave Me," and "I'll Cover You."
