Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Assassination on the Golf Course

Answer: The Murder on the Links

Hercule Poirot receives a letter from a French businessman asking him to come immediately. When Poirot and his friend, Captain Hastings arrive at his house, they are informed that he has been murdered.
2. The Large Quartet

Answer: The Big Four

A departure from Christie's usual style, "The Big Four" was named after a group of four unknown individuals working towards dominating the world. It is up to Poirot to bust this gang before they are able to amass any more power.
3. The Homicide at the Rectory

Answer: The Murder at the Vicarage

Colonel Protheroe is not much liked in the village of St. Mary Mead. Yet, when he is found murdered in the vicarage, the people are shocked. With two different people claiming to have carried out this nefarious deed, it is up to Miss Jane Marple to solve this mystery.
4. Danger at Final Residence

Answer: Peril at End House

While Poirot and Hastings are holidaying at a Cornish resort, they end up befriending Magdala Buckley who goes by the name of Nick. When Poirot hears of a series of seeming accidents that she has recently gone through, he is worried that someone may be out to kill her. Will he be able to save her?
5. Execution in Triple Deeds

Answer: Murder in Three Acts

Also published under the title "Three Act Tragedy", the book features Poirot along with Mr. Satterthwaite, a character who has appeared in at least one other Christie story. At a dinner party thrown by a well known stage actor Sir Charles Cartwright, one of the guests ends up dead setting the mystery in motion.
6. Extermination is Simple

Answer: Murder is Easy

This book was also published under the title "Easy to Kill". A retired policeman meets an old lady on a train who informs him that she is on her way to Scotland Yard to reveal the identity of a serial killer. Of course, the policeman doesn't pay much heed to this.

However, he later comes across an obituary for the lady who was killed in a hit-and-run accident (presumably before she made it to Scotland Yard) and that of a doctor, whom she had claimed would be the killer's next victim.
7. Quintet of Wee Swines

Answer: Five Little Pigs

Poirot is called upon to help solve a murder that occurred sixteen years ago. Caroline Crale was pronounced guilty of the murder of her husband, Amyas, but her daughter believes that justice may not have been done. Can Poirot find out the truth? The novel was also published under the title "Murder in Retrospect".
8. Trial by Blamelessness

Answer: Ordeal by Innocence

This book has been claimed by Christie to be one of her personal favourites. Jacko Argyle is convicted of killing his mother and dies in prison while serving his sentence. However, till the end he protested that he was wrongly convicted and maintained his innocence. Was he innocent?
9. The Timepieces

Answer: The Clocks

This is one of the few Christie novels that I am yet to read. Here Poirot is challenged to solve the mystery solely using his "little grey cells" without visiting the site of the crime or speaking to anyone involved.
10. Recollected Demise

Answer: Remembered Death

The novel was also published under the title "Sparkling Cyanide". The plot was expanded from an earlier short story titled "Yellow Iris" that featured Poirot as the detective and was first published in the Strand Magazine before being included in the short story collection "The Regatta Mystery and Other Stories". In the novel, however, Christie switched the sleuth from Poirot to Colonel Race.

Six people gather for a dinner party and one of them dies at the table. The death is ruled as a suicide. A few months later, the husband of the dead woman decides to recreate the scene to unmask the killer only to wind up dead himself.
