Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which vampire told "the boy" the narrative of his very interesting life as a vampire?

Answer: Louis

Louis told his very interesting (and sad) story to "the boy" who is later identified as Daniel Molloy. Louis telling his story greatly altered Daniel's life. At the end of the book, he goes off to find Lestat so Lestat can turn him into a vampire because Louis refused to.
2. Who made Louis a vampire?

Answer: Lestat

Louis is made into a vampire by Lestat. Poor Louis is devastated by his brother's death and wants to die. But when finally given the choice to die he becomes a vampire, but of course he falls into despair as a vampire too. About the other choices: Armand just falls in love with Louis he doesn't make him. Santiago is just a member of the theater of the vampires troupe and Magnus is Lestat's maker. If you haven't read "The Vampire Lestat" yet I'm sorry for that spoiler.
3. What is the name of the child vampire that Lestat makes?

Answer: Claudia

Lestat made Claudia because he did not want Louis to leave him because he is in love with Louis. Louis, Claudia, and Lestat lived in a town house together for 65 years but then Claudia, angry at Lestat, tried to kill him. Claudia and Louis, thinking that he was dead, dumped him into a swamp.

He came back but they fled to Europe. In Paris Claudia was killed and Louis was devastated (once again). He traveled the world with Armand but he was still extremely sad.
4. Which street in San Francisco is Louis's apartment located on?

Answer: Divisadero St.

Louis's apartment is on Divisadero St in the book. In the movie his apartment is on Market St. This is where he tells "the boy" (Daniel Molloy) his memoir of being a vampire.
5. What happens to "the boy" (Daniel Molloy) at the end of "Interview with the Vampire"?

Answer: Louis bites him and he passes out. He wakes up the next morning and goes to find Lestat.

In the book "the boy" (Daniel Molloy) begs Louis to make him a vampire. Louis gets really angry and then sucks a little of his blood.

Lestat jumping out of the backseat is from the movie and though a cool ending is not from the book. The one about Armand is from "Queen of the Damned" because instead of finding Lestat at Lestat's house he finds Armand there and Armand starts stalking him. The one about Claudia's ghost is not entirely made up because Jesse in "Queen of the Damned" thought she saw Claudia's ghost.
6. Which southern city do Louis, Lestat, and Claudia live in?

Answer: New Orleans

Louis, Lestat, and Claudia live in New Orleans. The reason that they live there is that New Orleans was the place that Anne Rice grew up and knows a lot about. It seems appropriate for the mood of the book as well.
7. What is the name of Louis's brother?

Answer: Paul

Louis's brother, Paul, is the reason he wanted to die. Because a little earlier Paul had died and Louis felt it was his fault. If it hadn't been for that he wouldn't have been enticing to Lestat and wouldn't have been made into a vampire. I put down Lestat because Lestat is, I guess, his vampire "brother".
8. Where did "the boy" (Daniel Molloy) meet Louis?

Answer: in a bar

They met in a bar. "The boy" (Daniel Molloy) had been recording stories of interesting people until he met Louis. Then he interviewed a vampire.
9. How long did Louis survive only off the blood of animals?

Answer: 4 years

Louis felt really guilty that he had to kill humans. So for four years he survived off the blood of animals. The first human he killed was a runaway slave. For four years after that he drank from just animals. He finally couldn't resist it so he drank from a little girl named Claudia, who later became a vampire herself.
10. What kind of vampire(s) did Claudia and Louis find in Transylvania?

Answer: They found mindless, zombie-like vampires

Yes they did find a vampire but it was mindless and didn't even realize that they were vampires too. In the movie they found no vampires in Transylvania.
