Septimus Heap was taken away from his family when the midwife lied to his mother, Sarah Heap, and proclaimed him dead. For a while he was boy 412 of the Young Army. He finds out who he really is at the end of "Magyk", the first book in the series.

2. This son of the Heaps is very good with boats and fixing things. He is good friends with Jenna and Septimus.

Nicko was one of the few people that believed Septimus when he told everyone that Simon kidnapped Jenna. He goes on a journey with Septimus to try to rescue her in the second book, "Flyte".

Silas Heap is the seventh son of Benji Heap and the father of the seven sons. Silas was the apprentice to the Extra-Ordinary Wizard originally, but he decided he didn't want to be and Marcia Overstrand took his place. He may be a bit careless at times, but he is good-natured and friendly to most people.
