Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which Da Vinci artwork did Jacques Sauniere fashion his own body into?

Answer: The Vitruvian Man

"The Vitruvian Man" is Da Vinci's artwork portraying the complexity of the human form. "The Last Supper" is a fresco in Milan, Italy. "The Mona Lisa" is probably the most famous painting in the world, and Madonna On The Rocks" is NOT an artwork by Da Vinci, that would be "Madonna Of The Rocks".
2. Which of these people was never a supposed grand master of the mysterious Priory of Sion?

Answer: Alexander Graham Bell

Isaac Newton clearly was, as his tomb is used later in the book. Hugo and Debussy are both on the list in the "Dossiers Secrets".
3. What was special about the numbers that unlocked Sophie's grandfather's safe deposit box?

Answer: They are the first few terms of the Fibonacci Sequence

The Fibonacci Sequence is where the current term is the sum of the two previous terms. 1, 1, (1+1) 2,(2+1) 3, (3+2) 5, (5+3) 8 ... etc.
4. Where is the listening bug planted in Sauniere's office in the Louvre?

Answer: Inside the suit of armour

Yes, it was in the suit of armour! The phone is a common place for listening bugs, in many movies and books. The hollow book idea was used in the James Bond film "Thunderball" and, I had to mention Cher somewhere!
5. What is the Holy Grail in this book?

Answer: Evidence of Jesus' marriage to Mary Magdalene and their descendants

It is believed to be documents to that effect, in this book.
A common version of the holy grail, as shown in "Indiana Jones" is the chalice and wooden cup, and it is not a book written by Moses.
6. What can supposedly be seen in Da Vinci's fresco "The Last Supper"?

Answer: The letters V and M between Jesus and the Beloved Disciple

V is supposedly the symbol for the female, and the M is apparently for Mary Magdalene, believed to be Jesus' wife, and mother of his children. The disembodied body part is actually a hand, with a knife. No pies feature in this painting, and Satan is not seen.
7. Leigh Teabing is a major character in "The Da Vinci Code". Where does his name come from?

Answer: It is a homage to two of the writers of "Holy Blood, Holy Grail"

The two writers are Richard Leigh and Michael Baigent. Baigent is an anagram of Teabing. I do not know Dan Brown's mother's maiden name, but I'm guessing it is not Teabing. Tina Turner's real name is Anna Mae Bullock.
8. Who is the "knight A. Pope interred"?

Answer: Sir Isaac Newton

Dame Judi Dench and Sir Sean Connery, were not dead at the time of publication. Sir Lancelot is a legendary character. The A Pope is actually Alexander Pope, not the leader of the Catholic Church.
9. Which of these is NOT a meaning for the symbol of the pentagram?

Answer: It is a set of symbolic instructions as to how to bake holy bread

It is the other three. A recipe for baking holy bread cannot be found in the pentagram, no matter how you look at it, as far as I know.
10. Where is the final resting place of the Holy Grail, supposedly, in this book?

Answer: La Pyramide Inversee , The Louvre , Paris , France

Robert Langdon discovers that this is where Jacques Sauniere hid the Holy Grail. Hope you enjoyed the quiz!
