Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where are Belle's parents during most of the book?

Answer: Italy

They were vacationing there. Belle stayed with her cousin, Emma, and her husband Alex (from "Splendid") in Oxfordshire.
2. How many living brothers does John have?

Answer: two

They're Damien and Sebastian. John's mother also had a stillborn son before John. Damien is the only one of John's siblings who we meet in the book. He also has three sisters.
3. What is the name of the house that John has just bought?

Answer: Bletchford Manor

No one could ever seem to remember the name of John's home. My personal favorite has to have been "Blasphemous Burg."
4. True or False: Persephone was a very stern chaperone.

Answer: False

She was the exact opposite of what anyone would want in a person who was chaperoning their unmarried cousin, even though Alex was paying her quite a bit for her services.
5. What does Persephone use to fight off Belle's would-be kidnappers?

Answer: her parasol

For a sweet old woman, she could be quite violent when she set her mind to it.
6. What was the name of the girl John knew in Spain?

Answer: Ana

The poor thing was raped and ended up killing herself three days later. John blamed himself for not being able to save her.
7. Where was John wounded during the war?

Answer: his knee

Alex said that when the surgeon told his assistant to bring the saw so that he could amputate the leg, John (remarkably strong for a man who was bleeding profusely) told him that he would hunt the man down and saw off his leg if he did that to him. The surgeon, needless to say, left him alone.
8. Who was trying to kill John?

Answer: George Spencer

He wanted revenge because John forced him to desert the army.
9. Yes or No: Does anyone (besides the servants) know where the blue salon at John's home is?

Answer: No

The green room was the room with all the blue furniture. As far as we know, only his butler, Buxton, knew where the blue salon was.
10. What was the new name of John's house?

Answer: Persephone Park

I couldn't help but put "Blasphemous Burg". They named it after Persephone after she saved John from Spencer. She wanted them to name their first daughter after her, but Belle thought it would be better this way.
