In "The Waterless Sea" we find out a bit more of Darrow's mysterious background, mainly through flashbacks. 'Gold Arrow' was the name of the ship his parents owned, and where he was born. His parents were based manly out of Penlewin in the Lakelands, but Darrow was taken away from them in Merithuros after he used chantment. He was then taken to the Black Palace.
