Solstice is the main dome of the many that are scattered across the inhospitable planet. Olbia and Serifosa are two of those other domes. Merisan is made up.

All are relatives to greater or lesser degree, but Byerly is the most distant of the lot, and least welcome; he plays the role of the dissolute man-about-town... besides it was almost local midnight.

Ylla might have been the ultimate in out-of-the-way spots but at least Ivan's duties weren't overly onerous.
