Jordan's novel "Phantom Watch" was the key. It also had to be her copy of the book, as all of them (Jordan, Flynn, Brad, Zoe and Malory) had copies as well. Once inside the book, Kane began twisting the story around to stop Dana. Jordan was able to journey inside and rewrite sections in order to aid Dana and save her from Kane. Jordan was the first of them that Kane had drawn blood from, and in doing so he'd changed the rules he'd originally set forth.

This allowed Rowena and Pitte to step in and help whenever they could.

Simon was the result of Zoe's very first love affair at age 16. Simon's father was a rich boy of 19, who abandoned Zoe after they told their families of the pregnancy.

Kyna, the warrior, was Zoe's exact likeness. As was Venora for Malory and Niniane for Dana. After Kane broke his own rules, the god king began sending Kyna's visage to Zoe as a sign. She would look and see Kyna's reflection in the place of her own.

Homemakers is a store like Home Depot, Lowe's, or Michaels in the USA. It was in Brad's family for several generations, starting off small and growing into a huge chain all over America.

Once Zoe believed she belonged with Brad, and totally accepted it, she was able to find the last key under the mat at what would be her new home (Chapter 19, page 311). After Kane was destroyed, the quest finished, and each lady's million dollars refused, Zoe's gave Rowena her last wish.

She wished for Rowena and Pitte to be forgiven and able to return home. Her wish was granted by the god king, and Rowena and Pitte vanished before them.
