Lola and Mel meet on Mel's first day at the Angel Academy. They're roommates and best friends. Reuben is another friend, Orlando is Mel's crush, and Brice is her arch-nemesis-turned-friend.

2. In what era do Nick, Chance, and Cat live?

Nick Duckett, Chance, and Cat are ELizabethan teenagers who Mel, Reuben, and Lola help on a "research trip" - aka top secret mission. This is in the second book, "Losing the Plot".

Aurelia, Star, and Lucilla are the triplets who, in "Fighting Fit", caused the fall of Nero's Rome. Mel looked after Aurelia, and they developed a special bond.

Tsubomi is a Japanese popstar put under way too much stress. She slips into a coma and goes on a journey with Mel and Reuben to find herself in Limbo during "Budding Star".
