Florence at the time was a small city, most people were just thankful to live in such a beautiful place, but soon thousands left because of illness and crime.
2. Which one of these people is NOT one of Alessandra's siblings?

Answer: Erila

Plautilla, Luca, and Tomaso are her siblings. Erila is her slave and best friend.
3. As a cruel joke, what animal did Tomaso say Alessandra resembled?

Answer: Giraffe

He said she had long legs and eyes like deep black pools with eye lashes as thick as box hedges, just like a giraffe.
4. Who in this book was a sodomite?

Answer: Christoforo

Christoforo was a sodomite, and Tomaso was also a sodomite, and in fact those two men yearn for each other.
5. Do we ever find out the Painter's name?

Answer: No

Every time he is mentioned, he is known as the Painter; we never do find out his name.

They are reunited, actually for quite some time. Then he goes back to Rome and takes their daughter Plautilla with him so she can find a husband, for she is of age.
