Like I have said before, Jess has a temper problem, and theis is mainly caused by people talking her ill brother, Douglas. Douglas has a illness which causes him to see things that aren't really there.

At the start of Book 4 we find out the Nate, one of Jess's neighbours, has been murdered. His body was found in a cornfield, and he had a symbol burned into his chest.

Jess asks around trying to find out what the symbol on Nate's chest meant. Rob eventually took her to a biker bar where we meet Chick, who tells us its the symbol of the true Americans. They are led by a man called Jim Henderson who believes America should be home to Americans, not Aficans or Jews.

In order to blend in with the true Americans, Jess and Rob tell them fake names. Rob is Hank and Jess is Ginger.

While holding Jim at knife point, one of Jim's people hit Rob on the head with a mash-potato bowl. It causes Rob's head to bleed.

At the end of the book, Jess's parents walk into the hospital room where Jess is with Rob. Jess takes the opportunity to introduce Rob to her parents.
