Answer: Mrs. Hughes

10. Where did James Morland and John Thorpe meet?

Answer: Oxford

They met while at Oxford University.
11. What is the name of the village where Henry has his living?

Answer: Woodston

Petty France is where they stop on the way from Bath. Compton is an estate mentioned in "Mansfield Park" and Thornton Lacy is Edmund's living in "Mansfield Park."
12. What is Captain Tilney's first name?

Answer: Frederick

He is responsable for breaking up Isabella and James. (I wonder if Henry didn't ask him to? :-))
13. Why is Isabella so disappointed when James returns with his parents' consent?

Answer: She thinks the Morelands are being stingy

She SAYS it's the wait that makes her disappointed, but she really thinks that the Morlands are very rich and the parents are not being generous with James' settlement.
14. Why was Catherine suddenly so out of favour with General Tilney?

Answer: John Thorpe told him she was a poor gold digger

John Thorpe had told him in Bath that she was far richer than she actually was, and that she was heir to the Allen's estate since they had no children (and obviously favoured her, they brought her to Bath). With this information General Tilney decided that Catherine was an ideal match for his son.

Then when Catherine rejects John Thorpe, he exaggerates to the other extreme. He happened to meet the General in London and told him that the Morlands were very poor and very numerous, and the Allen's estate was entailed elsewhere (It wasn't), so the General rushed back to seperate the gold digger from his son.
15. When Catherine and Henry married, what was their age difference?

Answer: 8 years

Catherine was 18 and Henry was 26.
