Answer: Tyre

Pericles was based on several other earlier works rather than historical fact.

Tyre is an ancient Phoenician city and is the fourth largest city in modern day Lebanon. It is a major port and attracts many tourists.
2. In the Shakespeare play of the same name, Pericles wanted to marry the Princess of Antioch. What did he have to do to win her hand?

Answer: Solve a riddle

Pericles solved the riddle, but was worried that if he spoke the meaning out loud, he would die at the hand of the king. He asked for more time to think, made his excuses and left.

Answer: Went on an extended sea voyage

Pericles was the ruler so there was no king.

His friend and counselor Helicanus suggested that the King of Antioch would not trust Pericles to remain silent, so Pericles went to sea.

All four of the names given are related to the sea.
